Unit 5: Linear FunctionsIn this unit students begin to dive deeper into algebra at they look at all the ways a linear function may be written. Students will develop a connection between tables, equations, and graphs. They will get to know Slope Guy as they use slope and y-intercepts to write equations for real world situations and discuss what they see happening on the graphs.

Unit 5 "I can..." StatementsA. I can represent relations as tables, graphs and mapping. B. I can identify a function that has exactly one unique output, for every input. C.I can identify proportional and non-proportional relationships. D. I can calculate slope when given two points, a graph, a table, or an equation. E. I can identify and describe the meaning of the slope and y-intercept of a linear function in a problem. F. I can construct a linear function from a verbal descriptions, tables of values and a graph. G. I can use linear equations to make predictions (interpolation/extrapolation) in real world situations. |
